XP Professional with SP 1 and Symantec VPN client

My operating system in my desktop has Win XP Pro with SP1.
I installed Symantec Enterprise VPN Client 7.0 software
and I always get error messages when I open Symantec VPN
as "Can't initialize EMAPI.DLL, Rn=64,Module=VPNSERVICES
(64)". Symantec website has a patch file to download to
allow computers with XP Pro SP1 and I downloaded and
upgraged software to VPN Client 7.0.1. I continue to get
the same error message.I do not have any of the NIC cards
disqualified by Symantec. I do not have any firewall in my
computer and I do not use IC Sharing/TCP/IP filtering. I
have unistalled and re-installed the program several
times.Has any one in this newsgroup had a similar probem
and know a way to work around. As you know, Symantec is
very adament in not responding to my request for help,
which is why I am forced to approach this newsgroup.

I had the exact same error - stumped me for ages as I the connection
was perfect then out of the blu this error - have you solved it yet ?
