XP Professional dependent services disabled, cannot enable services

Hi...please help! I connected my computer to the net.
Everything was fine for about a month. Then, when I
accessed the net anytime from 10 seconds to over an hour
after logon, I began to get this message: "Remote
Procedure Call has terminated unexpectedly. Windows must
shut down..." I closed my programs and logged off the net
as Windows shut down in 1 min. Before I could fix this
problem or find it's source, I inadvertantly disabled some
dependent services in the "Services" menu. Now, I cannot
enable those services because they're dependent on others-
which are disabled. It's like a "catch 22." Nothing
happens when I click on "Properties" for anything and
nothing comes up for "Help and Support." I can see
that "Help and Support" is disabled in the sevices menu,
but cannot enable it. I need to know how to get these
services enabled and working properly again. Windows
cannot access system restore to restore settings to a
previous point. I am terribly frustrated. I know this can
be fixed, probably easily, with some technical support
from someone who has had the same problem. Please e-mail
me soon. Thank you for your time and expertise. I am
looking forward to your reply(and to not being frustrated)
regarding this problem. Thanks again!

You've got a virus, either the MSBlaster, Sasser, or variants. This
happened because you didn't 1) patch your operating system; 2) run a
firewall; 3) have a current antivirus using updated definitions
installed.

Get the infected machine off the Internet. To stop the rebooting, go to
Start>Run and type "shutdown -a" without the quotes. From a different
computer, download Stinger onto a floppy from here:

http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

Stinger is a standalone antivirus tool that scans for some of the more
common viruses. Read the instructions on the webpage. Hopefully Stinger
will enable you to clean up your machine enough to get patched at
Windows Update, install a full-featured antivirus program, and a
firewall. I like the free firewall from Sygate. You can get it here:

http://smb.sygate.com/products/spf_standard.htm

Be aware that cleanup may be complex - we are now seeing that infected
computers usually have more than one variant of virus, as well as one
or more instance of a polybot worm from the Gaobot/Agobot family. If
you aren't able to clean up your machine yourself, take it to a good
local computer repair shop (not a BestBuy or CompUSA type of store) and
have them clean it for you.
