XP Product ID number

I'm having problems with XP on my laptop and now the
laptop says " no operating system found" I am trying to
get it solved online but I can't get to my product ID
number because my comp won't startup. ALso get message
PXE-E61: Media Test Failure, Check Cable. Any help would
be great.

That second message - PXE-E61: Media Test Failure - indicates a major
hardware problem, possibly a failed hard drive.

As this is a laptop it probably needs the hands-on attention of a
factory service depot or at least a repair shop that specializes in
laptops.

Your computer is trying to boot from the network do a search of "PXE-E61" on
google.
Look in your bios...what order/sequence is your system set to boot? Does it
say something like network first?

Go into your computer BIOS and change the first boot device to a hard drive (hdd-0)
If that doesn't do the trick, see what the second and third boot device are set at, change those to hdd-0
If the computer still doesn't boot, hard drive is corrupt or went south
