XP Product activation

Here goes. About a week ago I turned on my new E-machine Model W3050.
Everything works perfectly except: I am unable to perform the mandatory
activation of the product, i.e. Windows XP. I think I know what I am doing? I
used Windows 98 for many years. Trouble is I haven't gotten those annoying
reminders to activate Windows. Supposedly it is in Start/ All programs/
Accessories/ System tools/ Activation wizard. But no luck. Does anybody know
what the heck is doing on here? I haven't gotten the first reminder on my
computer, zilch, zero. Wow!!! Help me.

A preinstalled version of Windows XP often does not require activation
since it may be BIOS-locked to a specific motherboard BIOS. You can
check the activation status by going to Start > Run and typing in:
oobe/msoobe /a

This came pre-installed?
If so, activation may be unnecessary.
Contact those you purchased it from.

The system is probably already activated, which is the state that most
pre-installed versions of XP are in when purchasing a new system. Check the
following website for a more detailed explanation.
