XP problem after using Restore

Hi

Windows xp Home
Compaq Presario 6000

Kept acting up so did System Restore.

Now when turning on it shows
Veritas Update manager
Looks like it is trying to load it and keeps trying
Never finishes.

Have to use Control Alt Delete to get it to stop.
Computer seems to work after this.

Do not know what Veritas is and cannot figure how to fix it.

Veritas is a software company that has products in data protection and
software management. I have no idea how it got on your system unless compaq
has some of their software installed.

XP is Laced with software that MS is licensed to use in
there product. Usually it remains hidden from your view.
