i plan on installing xp as a second os , and keep win98.i
have two hard drives. is there a way to do this so i can
decide which works best for me

Yes. It's easy with XP. You need a clean partition to install XP on.
Just start a normal Clean install of Xp. During the install process, t will
ask where you wish to install. Just point it to the clean partition. Xp
will create a Boot.ini and load a boot loader so you can select which OS to
boot. The main thing is to read each installation screen carefully to be
sure you don't accidently ovrwrite the 98.
