XP Pro won't Install.

New at this.

Just built my first PC. All is working fine, boots fine
etc. When the XP CD is put into the CDRom it appears to
begin installation (no previous operating system installed)
I get a blue screen says "Windows setup" across top. Asks
if I want to install a third party raid driver, but
doesn't do anything or accept keystrokes beyond that.

System Spec. Intell 2.6 Ghz 800Mhx FSB. 256Mb DDR400 106Gb
Seagate drive. (already formatted) CDROm and Floppy drive.
ASUS P4P800 Dlx mbo.

It is asking about the RAID driver because it doesn't have a built-in driver
for it. You should have a floppy that you got with the motherboard and on
the floppy are the drivers.

Do you have your HD hooked up to the Via RAID controller? If so, as Jerry
replied,
you'll need to insert the floppy that came w/ the drivers when prompted (at
the bottom
of the screen) to kit F6 to install SCSI/RAID drivers.

P.S. Just a suggestion, but I'd try to pick up another 256MB DDR, as XP
"likes" RAM.
If you do get additional RAM, try your best to get exactly the same stick as
the P4P800
board can do dual DDR.
