Marks,

Please do a system scan and make sure that you do not have any virus in your
system. Please use the link http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ to scan your
system for viruses.

Also it is known that Norton Anti Virus will give you this error. Please try
uninstalling Norton Anti Virus if you have it installed and see if the
problem persist. You might also want to try excluding "svchost.exe" from
the list of program scanned by Norton Antivirus.

Let me know if this solves the problem.

Try posting an exact copy of the error report in Event Viewer.

Make an exact note of the precise text of any error message. Minor
discrepancies can
make it harder to search for information about the error message.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer.
When researching the meaning of the error, information regarding Event
ID, Source
and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&Product=winxp
A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the
error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two
pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now start your
message
(email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This will paste the
info from the
Event Viewer Error Report complete with links into the message. Make
sure this is
the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

It only happens when the system is cold (hasn't been turned on for awhile)?
But everything is fine if you just reboot, or shutdown for say 20 minutes
and startup again? If this is true, then what you probably have is a failing
component that is manifesting itself as a process error. The component does
not function properly when cold, so the supporting driver reports an error
loading. Once warmed up, it runs fine. This is typical of a mechanical
problem like a cracked solder line.
