XP pro VPN to Win NT server / 2000

Hi

We have setup a VPN on an XP pro machine to our LAN which
has an NT4 domain controller and a w2000 server.

The XP machine (which is not logged onto the domain but running as a local
workstation) will connect to the windows 2000 server (192.168.1.3) on our
domain via a network share and browse it fine. It can also connect to the
SQL server on that machine via ODBC and run queries. So the VPN is
definitely up and running.

The problem is that the remote XP machine cant create a network share onto
our NT domain controller (192.168.1.2) for some reason! It doesnt ask for
any logon credentials. It says the network path cannot be found.

Can someone please help.

Many thanks

Mal

Is TCP/IP bound to file and print sharing on the NT4 machine?

(do I remember how to look at this (no)--nor do I have an NT4 machine to go
look at, I'm afraid.)

Can the remote XP machine ping 192.168.1.2?
