XP Pro to XP Home

I want to install XP Home and replace XP Pro that is already on my PC. Will I lose all my files and photos and do I have to completely remove XP Pro and all components before installing XP Home? Any help would be appreciated.
 
Hi

Why do you want to install XP Home instead of XP Pro? If you want install
XP Home install of XP Pro, you will have to re-format your hard
disk/partition, and yes all programs and data files will go. If you want to
go that way, may I suggest that you backup your most important data files
beforehand.
