XP Pro SP2 all computers updated now won't network

We have 3 computers that we have recently updated to XP Pro and they all have
SP 2. We also just got DSL - all are hooked up through the same router we
had prior to the software upgrade. Since installing SP 2 we cannot get them
to Network. Our network is still set up the same. We tryed turning off the
firewall, made sure file and printer sharing is active. We have gotten the
message "There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network."
and when attempting to access an other computer this message has come up,
"Davis is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network
resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have
access permissions. The network path not found." DSL connection does work
for all 3 computers but no file or printer sharing is functioning.

I also followed the following instructions from Windows Help page: Method 1:
Use a the Netsh command-line toolOn the remote Windows XP SP2-based computer,
run a netsh command to permit traffic through Windows Firewall on TCP port
445: 1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. Type the following command, and then press ENTER: netsh firewall set
portopening tcp 445 smb enableYou receive the following message: Ok.
3. Quit the command prompt.
To implement this change throughout your organization, run this netsh
command-line from a batch file or from a script. Method 2: Use the Graphical
User Interface On the remote Windows XP SP2-based computer, modify Windows
Firewall to permit incoming TCP traffic on port 445: 1. Click Start, and then
click Control Panel.
2. Click Security Center, and then click Windows Firewall.
3. Click the Exceptions tab, click to select the File and Printer Sharing
check box, and then click Edit.
4. Click to select the TCP 445 check box, click Change scope, and then take
one of the following actions: • Click My network (subnet) only.
• Click Custom list, and then type the IP addresses that you want to manage
this computer.

5. Click OK four times.

Please help!

Faith,

Carey's occasional offers to provide free one-on-one consultation
appears to originate from his inability to accept criticism. Criticism
is an unavoidable result of posting on Usenet. Instead of posting his
advice on Usenet, so all can see and learn, he chooses to provide advice
thru email.

These forums work best when advice is requested, given, and examined,
online. Everybody learns, including the giver of advice.

Faith,

Please start with providing ipconfig information for each computer.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, make sure that Format - Word Wrap is
NOT checked!, copy and paste entire contents into your next post.

Which computer(s) have WF enabled? Which computers have FPS exception enabled
in WF?
