XP Pro shutting down NT Authority\System

Lately my system, mostly when using IE 6, has given me a
big box message saying:
"The System is shutting down. Pls. save all work....
This Shutdown was initiated by NT Authority\System"

Does anyone know why XP is going through this re-boot
process?
Is there a fix?

You are infected with the Blaster worm virus.



To stop the rebooting/shutdowns, right click on the task bar, choose task
manager, processes tab, look for msblast.exe. Highlight it and click end
process. Then turn on the xp firewall.

To turn on the firewall: control panel, network and internet connections,
network connections, right click your connection, properties, advanced tab,
check the protect my computer box. Do this as quickly as you can once the
desktop comes up. Then visit the sites below for the removal and patch info.

visit windows update for the patch after you remove it.

You have a virus = Mblaster Follow the steps below.

1. Go to control Panel> Network connections > *Your
connection* rt click >properties, Advanced Tab, check to
enable> The Firewall.

2. Do a Ctrl + Alt + DeL , on task manager highlight
MBlaster.exe and end the Process.

3. Go here and download the fix.

www.sarc.com to download the tool to remove it from your
system, patch your system with the update provided by
microsoft at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?
