Hi all,

Wondering if any one can give me some advice why my new PC just reboots when
working on something?

SPECS:
P4 2.6
1G RAM
120GB SATA
ATI FIRE Z1 128MB
ASUS MB
CD/CDRW
XP PRO
400W PS
Solid Works only program installed!

Is it possible that you're experiencing severe errors while running the
program? Check your event log, and make sure "automatically reboot" is
unchecked (right-click My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Startup and
Recovery) and see if that helps.

As this is a *NEW* system why are you posting here instead of talking to the
manufacturer and/or vendor?

Could be the W32.Blaster.Worm... I caught this virus after reinstalling
Windows XP and going online to do a windows update... This virus is
everywhere!! It made my system reboot every 2 minutes or so...

Do you have an antivirus installed???
See info on that virus:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.html

1- Check if msblast.exe is running in your system task.
2- Check if you have the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
"windows auto update" = "msblast.exe"
