xp pro rebooting during start up epidemic

I work for IT at a college. Within the past day or two
about 20 computers have been brought in with the same
symptom. The comps reboot in different places but always
before ever getting into windows. They also never prompt
for login in which they used to(provided they get that
far in the bootup sequence). The best solution we have
right now is reghosting the machine. I would like to
know if anyone has a "quickfix" or some less time
consuming alternative.

No, reghosting *is* the quick fix. That's the point of ghosting when you
have multiple machines.
