XP Pro question re: saved passwords

I seem to have lost the ability to save passwords recently. I'm using XP Pro
Edition. I click on Internet options>Content>Auto Complete settings. Next to
the boxes I have checked them all including Prompt for saved passwords. But,
I'm not being prompted nor are any forms, passwords, etc auto completing. I
went to Kelly's Korner and downloaded the IE prompt for saved passwords
fix...still no prompting for passwords or auto completing my forms. What can
I do to correct this situation? Thanks.

Outlook Express keeps prompting for your password - Repair
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_oe_passwords.htm

This fix also applies to Outlook, other programs that store passwords
in the Protected Storage System Provider sub-branch of the Registry.
It also corrects some issues with Internet Explorer and AutoComplete.

That answer refers to OUTLOOK EXPRESS. I'm talking about INTERNET EXPLORER
not auto completing forms or saving passwords or even prompting me by asking
if it SHOULD save the password. This has always been it's proceedure until
recently. As I said, it also is marked correctly to do so in the content
area of internet options. Will this proceedure you're referring to for
correcting OUTLOOK EXPRESS solve my problem even though I'm NOT now having a
problem with my OUTLOOK EXPRESS right now?

Well, I tried that and although it worked to prompt for a password when I
used OUTLOOK EXPRESS, I wasn't having any problem with OUTLOOK EXPRESS to
begin with. It did nothing with respect to the problem I wrote and told you
I was having. That is, my Internet Explorer has stopped saving passwords and
auto completing forms. It no longer asks me if I would like it to save my
passwords. I've checked under Internet options>Content>Auto Complete Forms
and have check marks in the boxes reflecting I want it to do so. Why isn't
it doing this and how can I fix the problem?
