Hi people.
I have some problem with one network printer, Printronix P5005B,
before was working with win 98 SE and dont send any garbage, i install
windows xp pro on the same computer, install the printer and all the
time print this code on the first page:

%-00004x
|};KO

This is only with XP, because if we send the same file with xin98
there is no garbage.

Went we send one big file, about 15 continues pages, print
%-00004x on the first line, them print the data, jump the next page and
only print |};KO, jump the next page and repeat the garbage.

Iam investigating about this, we are losing a lot of paper,
normally one file is about 15 or 20 pages, now if we add the garbage
pages...

Any tip or information about i will apreciate, thanks all for your
time.

You are getting the gibberish because you need to install drivers for
the printer that are for the XP operating system. Win98 is a completely
different operating system and the printer drivers for it do not work
on WinXP. Go to the printer mftr.'s website and find, download, and
install drivers for XP. If the printer is elderly and there are no
drivers for XP but drivers for Win2000 are offered, those might work.
Otherwise, you'll need to replace the printer with one that is
supported by your operating system.
