XP Pro Peer to Peer Networking Issue

I have a XP Pro Peer to Peer network of 2 PCs. All PCs can ping both ways
-name and ip address. The server can see and map tothe client. The client
can see self but not see or map to the server. I have also tried multiple
work group names. Both PCs have admin rights with shared c drives. Any
ideas on how to get the client to see the server?

Assuming you use the same administrator password to access server, make sure not firewall blocks the file sharing.

What do you receive if using net view \\serverip from the client? Then refer to this link,

troubleshooting is not accessible error "System Error 51 has occurred" · "System Error 53 has occurred". Troubleshooting step by step:. A. Is a firewall blocking the LAN traffic? Ping it by IP. ...

No firewalls (hardware or software) are blocking.

You are probably aware that XP Pro cannot function as a true server - having
said that - does your "server" provide a specific function?
