Xp pro ( on lap top ) does'n work with dhcp

lap = hp omnibook + Xp pro Sp 2
ethernet connection works in intranet if i set tcp/ip with addresses
coherent with my home lan
Internet does'n work.
dhcp function doen'n works....an automatic address becomes effective, and if
i do not set up it like a my home lan the lap top is completely isolated.
when i try to renew the lease ( like on the other pc on lan ) i get the
error " this job is impossible to completing "
The gateway i set in the tcp/ip windows( 1e2 ) does not show in the property
window of the enstabilished connection ( on right bottom of the sceen..)
"status" of icon , in both conditions, manually first an second addresses.
No marks like ! or ? or cross are present in the system-hardware-periphery.
In dos-session I can ping on my lan but i cannot ping out of my intranet,
the dns is the same of the other computers that work properly....
I tryed to eliminate some hardware and to update all drivers but it still
remain a mystery.
With the pcmcia wifi card is the same .

2) automatic set ( it gets the alternative manual value )

As you ca see , Robert, the system does't recognise the dhcp ( that works
fine with the desk and the 2nd laptop ) and does't accept the addres of the
gateway .
I can ping the gateway but the the desk and the gateway cannot ping the
laptop.
In the status of the connection where are show the number of pakets sended
and received ,the number of sended is high ..400 otherwise the recieved is 2
(!).
When the other pc , the desk today!) is trying to ping the laptop , using 4
packets , the number of recieved raises of 4..! ( like in the good families ).
Remember Robert .. with the pmcia wifi card it is the same..
