XP PRO not shutting down

Help me if you can please? it driving me nuts?.
When i shut down the pc by clicking the mouse on turn off, i get as fas as a
screen telling me its safe to turn the power off.

how do i change this to power off automaticly.

This should help...
Control Panel
Power Options
On APM tab check "Advanced Power Management Support"
Click to expand...
Click apply and then ok. PC should now shut down
automatically.
