XP pro not saving default printer or current home page settings

I have an IBM/Lenovo T43 running XP pro. When I shut down the system and
restart, the changes I make to the default printer and home page in Internet
Explorer are reset to the out of box configuration.
 
did you go to internet optins, and put in the home page you, or go thru set
program access and defaults, i have xp pro, and used them to set my home
page and default mailer,
 
Actually - the problem was IBM Connections Manager software overriding
defaults.

Problem solved.
