XP Pro No Longer Sending out Email

I have one workstation that is no longer allowing
anything to be sent out over Port 25.

At first, I thought this was an Outlook 2002 issue as it
was acting wonky. I fixed that issue and still it would
not send out email, yet could receive updates from the
IMAP Server. I checked all the settings and everything is
correct.

I then fired up Mozilla Mail 1.7 and was also unable to
send out Email.

So, I logged out of the Domain User Account and logged
in as local machine administrator and fired up Mozilla
Mail, created a duplicate of my email account from my own
workstation and attempted to send out email. I again found
the same issue.

I checked the network settings and found that the user
had not enabled the firewall, blocking outgoing port 25.
In fact, there appears to be nothing in the way. All other
PCs on the network are able to send and receive email
without any problem.

I checked all of the email and security logs on the
server and found nothing out of the ordinary and also
checked the workstations logs and found nothing out of the
ordinary there as well. The server doesn't have any
configurations that would block/disable or otherwise get
in the way of local workstations sending email through it.

Right now, I am under the impression that the only fix
is to restore the workstation to it's original
configuration, reload all the software and start over. I
really don't want to have to do that.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your assistance.

Is the email server you are trying to contact on the internal network, or on
the Internet?

What firewall are you using for the network?

Tim

The email server in question is internal.

Several ISP 's have recently blocked port 25 on their
networks from being used by any other smtp mail server but
thier own. Check with your ISP. if this is the case you
will have to set up your out going mail to their server.
Your incomming mail will still work fine. They are doing
this to cut down on spam servers.
Did you read my original post?

Okay, here's a spot more information. Our Email server
is working fine. It can send and receive email to the
outside world without a problem. All of our workstations,
inside the same network, are able to send and receive
email to this server.

One workstation can read and recieve updates from the
IMAP Server, but is unable to send ANY outgoing email on
it's Port 25. This is an internal to THAT workstation
issue.

This workstation with the problem is on the exact same
network as all the other workstations that work FINE. It
is plugged into the same exact 10/100 Switch as all the
other workstations that work fine.

Now, with that additional information. Do you have
anything helpful to add?
