Hi,

You can try login to Windows XP default Administrator Account from Safe MOde
and try to create a new user account.

You need to log into the local Administrator account. If you don't have
the password, I suggest that you take the laptop into work and nicely
ask your IT people to rejoin it to the domain. It is possible to change
the local Administrator password to a blank using NTpasswd, but you
will still need to have someone rejoin the machine to the domain.

Thanks Malke. However I am a stumbling IT person. How can I get to the admin
acount without a password? In order to rejoin a domain, as far as my little
bit of know how goes, Windows has to be up? The mistake I made was changing
it to a workgroup network. As it rebooted, it would not let me even come up
in the safe mode without a login name and password...Thanks...John

http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ - NTpasswd

Download the .iso for the bootable cd, boot with it, follow instructions
to change the *local* Administrator account to a blank. Once you've
done that, you can log onto the *local* Administrator account. Then
rejoin the machine to the domain. Naturally you need to be in Windows
when joining a domain.
