XP Pro - message icon in taskbar

This is a simple question but I don't use XP very often
and so don't know where to find the option!

One of our users no longer gets the envelope icon
appearing in her bottom right toolbar when she receives a
new mail. She needs to know as soon as she gets a mail
and so is finding no longer having this a bit of a
nuisance.

Can some nice person tell me where the option to get this
back is?

Hello Kirsten,
The envelope icon probably have been hidden in the taskbar.
To decide what must or doesn't have to stay always visible on the WindowsXP
taskbar you have to enter taskbar properties by right-clicking the taskbar
and then choose PROPERTIES.
You'll eventually come to a window with some start menu/taskbar settings,
you should see a HIDE INACTIVE ICONS checkbox at the bottom, sideways
(right) to that is a button labelled CUSTOMIZE.
Click that button to choose from a list what you want to be always seen or
not, the envelope icon should be on that list.
