Hi there,
We have several Win2K Pro and WinXP Pro machines on our network. The domain
controller runs Win2K Server. The problem I've been running into is in
regards to new computers that are being set up for use on our network. The
issue is that once the computers are set up, two mapped network drives are
added. They work fine for a while but then after a reboot or turning the
computers off for the day and coming back the next day the mapped drives no
longer work. When I try double clicking The following dialg box pops up:
"An error occured while reconnecting X: to \\DomainController\SharedFolder
Microsoft Windows Network : The local device name is already in sue.
This connection has not been restored."
Now other WinXP Pro machines that have previously been running on the
network work fine and do not have this problem. Almost all settings are
identical for all computers except their IP address. They all have static
IPs and the rest of the info is the same. Technically, the mapped network
drives are NOT already in use so I am not sure why I would be receiving this
pop up message. Can somebody help me out with this and point me in to a
direction so that I can get the mapped drives to work?
Thanks in advance,
Bobby
