I was given a computer that has XP Professional installed. When I turn it on,
the logon screen appears. They cannot rmeber the password to get to the
desktop. I was wondering if there is anyway to bypass this to get to the
desktop?

Thank you

"... I was given a computer that has XP Professional installed ..."

My advice will not change on this one. You need to format and reinstall the
OS yourself (unless this is some business computer that you are to be using
for work and your IT staff set this up for you.)

There are a number of software programs that you can use to make a bootable CD and then go in and
change the password to anything you want. Do a Google Search of "cd050303.iso" or "cd050303.zip"

I would still recommend formatting it..You have no idea what the previous
owner did/had installed/has installed on that system.

Hi,

In this situation it is possible to reset lost or forgotten login pass.
I suppose you using Active@ Password Changer for this purpose. It is
small easy to use and really quick. You will find it really useful, I
bet.
