XP Pro Logon problems

Hi,

I have Windows XP Pro installed on my machine. The
problem I am having is I cannot log on using my current
password. I have had my current password for about 15
months. I can however log on using my old password. When
I log on using the old password, all of my data and apps
that I installed since I changed the password are missing
from the drive.

This has happened in the past, but I was always able to
boot into safe mode using my new password and I could do a
system restore and everything would be fine. But now I
cannot even log into safe mode except with the old
password.

I suspect that my user profile with my new password has
become corrupted somehow and will only recognize my
profile with the old password. This is true with the
Administrator account as well. Previously when I would do
a restore through safe mode, I believe I received a
message saying that userenv.dll has been restored to
another version.

Has anyone seen this problem and/or have any solutions?

Thanks,
Dave

I found the solution to my problem. I originally
installed XP on an older hard drive before I upgraded and
reinstalled on a bigger drive. For whatever reason when I
booted tonight it booted to the slave drive instead of the
primary. I disabled the slave in BIOS and everything is
working the way it did before.

Thanks anyway for your time.
Dave
