XP pro licensing

Hello, My computer recently died (completely unusable) so i purchased a new
computer, my only option at the time was one with vista installed. I still
have the retail copy of Windows Xp Professional that was installed on my old
computer, I was wondering, if I decide to install XP will i need a new
license even though the computer it was installed on previously is no longer
usable?

If you in fact have the retail version (big blue box) and not an OEM copy
that shipped with the old PC then yes, you can install it on your new
system, it has to be the full version, not the upgrade.
