XP Pro License Transfer

Hi, I had a few questions regarding transfering licenses
for windows xp professional. I guess the first question
is to whether or not it is possible ( from a legal and
EULA standpoint) and 2, if it is, can it be done between
individuals or just computers owned by the same person.
The reason I am asking is, I have a copy of the windows xp
professional upgrade that I bought and installed on my
machine ( activating and registering it with microsoft ).
After using it for awhile, I decided that it wasn't quite
what I wanted and switched to an older copy of 2000
professional that I had previously bought. All of these
are owned and licensed by me. Anyway, since I no longer
have the xp pro upgrade installed on any systems can
I transfer the OS to someone else?

Thanx for your time,
andy

Andy,

The answer is YES!

You can sell, transfer, or use it on another machine. Give the buyer the CD,
PK, COA and booklet with a "bill of sale" and you and they will be all set.
Worst case, they will have to call MS to activate, but a 5 minute
conversation with the facts as presented will result in activation.

Yes you can, check the link below for information on what needs to be done
to transfer a previously activated retail version of XP.

Hey moron, the OP said he got rid of the crap off his system, how's he
supposed to read the spEULA? Do you actually ever *read* any posts, or do you
just answer with your knee-jerk crap agter seeing the subject or one sentence?
Pull your damn head out.

One does not have to have Windows XP installed in order to
read the EULA. One may currently be running virtually any
operating system to view XP's EULA.

The EULA for Windows XP may be extracted from the XP CD
by going to: Support\Tools\Support.Cab

You need to transfer all documentation that came with your XP CD. But,
other then that, it's legal for you to give or sell your XP CD to another
person. If it has been less the 120 days from when you activated XP. They
will need to cal MS to explain that they got it from you and that you
have removed it from your machine.
