Does anybody have a clue as to what maybe my problem?
I cannot get into WIN XP Pro.. my notebook just reboots itself
continually..i get an registry error message which stays on the screen for
about 1/2 a second then just reboots itself...
i have tried all the reccomendations...restore/F8/F2/Safemode everything
including 6 different websites reccomended to me..

i am starting to think i have a Virus/Worm or script problem..
it will NOT even allow me to re-install XP over the top..
Nothing works...............
Is there any software that cannot get rid of this virus (assuming it is one) ?
i am going bananas here...
any help much appreciated..

You mention "an registry error message". Is this a stop 0x51?

http://www.aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm
Tells you how to keep that screen for longer than 1/2 second. The page also
tells you how to deal with 0x51 Bsods.

0x51 is usually terminal. You'll need a backup registry. There are some
backup registries in:
1. System Restore
2. NtBackup "System State"
3. your ASR disks
4. [Advanced] C:\System Volume Information\_restore{????????}\rp???
\snapshot
5. [Advanced] Recovery Console
6. [Very Advanced] C:\Windows\Repair

Copy the backup registries into their appropriate folders (that is, look at
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_sys32.htm and
http://www.easydesksoftware,com/news/news4.htm).

Usually, these instructions don't work, in which case XP repair is the only
option.

PS. What's your service pack?

I just found the kb article I got this info from:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307545

This should explain things better than the waffle in my original post.
