XP Pro installation problems

I bought and put together a barebones kit from
Tigerdirect.com. 120Gb HD, P4 2.5 Ghz, and so on. I try
and install XP Pro and it stops in the same place every
time. It goes through the first three parts of the
installation with no problem. (Collecting Info, Dynamic
Update, Preparing Installation) But when it gets to
Installing Windows it stops at the 35 minute mark. No
matter what, replaced the HD, Processor, and Video Card.
BIOS has been loaded to failsafe defaults. Everything
checks out on the HCL as well. I have no idea what to
do. Is there a common problem if the installation stops
at that point? Any help would be wonderful.

it could be that your installation disk has a scrath on

it, i have had the same problems in the past, the best
way to find out is to try and borrow someone elses copy
or alternatively try your copy in another machine

I am having the same problem. I have checked the cd, changed hardware, but no luck. I have been fighting this for about a week, and am getting ready to throw the computer out the door! I hope somebody can figure it out.
