XP Pro install

when trying to install XP-Pro i get the following error.
line 16374 of .inf file is invalid
this occurs when i boot from CD.
i have tried using XP boot disks and the install fails.
i have run fdisk and formatted the drive several times with no success.
i am at a loss at this point how to continue.

Hi Mick,

Do you have a BIOS-based antivirus detection scheme? If so, try disabling
it.

Most folders changed into what?

For the programs (.exe) and links (.lnk, not .ink), go to www.dougknox.com,
click on WinXP Fixes. Go to the File Association Fixes, download and run the
fixes for both.
