XP Pro Hard Drive Problem

I recently installed XP Pro onto a Samsung S1604N hard drive, but now am
unable to boot. I cannot access Windows with either safe or normal mode. I
get a blue screen error with the following:

The stop code is *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF8A80528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000,
0x00000000)

I have tried the HD in 2 different computers and get the same error. The XP
install runs fine, only after the final reboot before loading Windows do I
get stuck. If I put the drive as a slave in another machine, I can access
the drive fine, view files on the drive, copy/cut/paste files to the drive,
in other words it acts normal. Only when I try to boot to the drive do I get
the above stop code.

I checked with Samsung and the drive does not require any drivers. BIOS
recognizes the drive, Windows recognizes the drive (as a slave) so what the
heck do I need to do in order to boot from this drive?

Thanks.
