Hi, Try disabling the wireless connection in Control Panel / Network
Connections.

Did that help?

Dear Steven,

This could be any number of problems. Usually, to slow up the explorer
shell, a known (but not connected) local volume (drive) could be the
culprit. If you are not on a network and have no external drives
mapped or direct USB/SATA on your PC then you shoud consider a malware
infection.

In Control Panel / Administrative tools / Event Viewer - look at the
system and application logs for recent issues. Any red X's would be
worth looking into. If you see any marked "atapi" then your notebook
hard disk may be cactus.
