Following an aborted hard disk cleanup that was taking
forever, Windows wouldn't load and I had to attempt a
repair. But whenever I try to launch the install with the
XP CD-ROM I had used previously without problems, it asks
the normal questions (recovery console or install, on
which partition, using ntfs or not, etc..) and then loads
the necessary files. Then it warns it will reboot in 15
seconds, and does so. However, when the PC reboots,
Windows doesn't lauch from the hard drive, and the setup
doesn't resume : after the POST, the cursor blinks
forever, and nothing happens, no matter what. I have put
the HD first in the Bios boot order, removing the CD-rom
just before the PC reboots, I removed all unnecessary
devices and cards from the computer to leave one HD and
one CR-ROM player only, and don't know what more I can do?
Why did it work before but no longer, and what can I do?
Thanks in advance.
