I have just installed XP Pro on a PIV and at the end of install, the display
went haywire and shows 640 X 480 limited to 4 colours.
I am unable to change the properties to a better screen reolution or colour
rating at all. Why & how to fix this.

Also, the Ring Token network card refuses to enable and make a connection so
no internet, and sound & ethernet devices also shows conflict in Devices tab.

You must first instal correct drivers (software) for the Display
Adapter (video electronics) for WinXP: then make the
appropriate tweaks via / Control Panel / Display.

For starters get your Toekn Ring card working so you can download the rest
of the drivers to fix the graphics problem. If you are having problems with
the Token Ring card, make sure the drivers are correct, and then check the
speed you have it set too. Token Ring cards with only work on a certain
speed. Hope that helps.

Thanks Brett, it appears that the Token Ring is a speciality adapter so I have exchanged it for an ordinary one and it gives no hitch at all.
