A friend gave me a HP Pavilion 503N that was totally messed up.(No Paper
work(manuals)or original CDs.
It is a Celeron 1.7GHZ and it has a 15 inch HP monitor.
Also has 128 MB Ram.
I was able to install Windows XP Pro, went to HP site and chatted with HP
tech and was able to get drivers for the on board sound and USB 2 drivers. I
also downloaded from HP the only Graphics controller driver available for
the specified model.
All works well EXCEPT I want to use my old DELL P780 Ultra sharp monitor.
The 15 in HP monitor works well.
With the Dell monitor, I can not get a full screen display and when I use
the graphic display adjustment I can adjust to a good full screen view, but
their isn't a save option for the settings and when the PC is turned off and
then on again, I am back to not having a full screen display.
How can I get the 17 inch monitor to display full screen?
(video card in lieu of on board graphics?)
Thanks in advance.
