XP Pro change to start up process

Hi,

A couple of days OK the start up process on my PC changed (without my
conscious input) and went from the normal XP start up process to what looks
like the Win 2000 process with a text box for user and none of the XP icons.

Can anyone help me solve this?

Do you mean that you are being asked for a username and password? See

Did you recently install any new software? What you are seeing can happen if
a new piece of software requires Microsoft's .net framework. If so you would
have been advised that the software installer requires .Net and asks if you
want to install it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.NET_Framework

You can use the Tweakui Powertoy to fix the auto logon
