I went to switch from one profile to another. The screen
went very dim. I rebooted the computer and the error
message came up asking how to reboot, last functional, safe
mode etc. In each of the reboots folling I chose a
different method and each one freezes while booting the
drivers. currently froze on
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows\system32\driver
s\mup.sys

This happened before and I took the computer to a shop and
it booted up fine for them. It was suggested that when I
get home I boot with only the keyboard and mouse and screen
on the computer. When I did the computer worked fine for a
while until now. I can not get past the bootup.

i had the same kind of shop that fixed my pc under warranty, if it works for them then there is nothing wrong. you should be able to boot with whatever you have connected. i hope you didn't pay for that kind of service. if you did, i would take it back and tell them that it's doing it again and (if you paid for it) then they had better diagnose it for free and find out what's going on. that's what step i would take first. there is alot of pc smart people on this group and will probably help you out if not.
