XP Pro and wireless notebook

I upgraded an HP Pavillion zv5160 Centrino notebook to XP Pro but cannot see the LAN. The drivers all say the device is working but they are X'd out when viewing the networking connections.
I spent two hours with MS support but they cannot help.

What were you upgrading from? Did you run the compatibility check before
upgrading?
Did you verify you're using the correct wireless settings (WEP, WPA, etc)?
Does your Ethernet port work properly?

There can be many reasons to Network Not Working.

Do a manual checkup of all Network related settings.
