XP Pro and W2K

I have a XP Pro machine connected to an XP server.

When I copy files or erase files using the XP Pro machine
to the server, it will take a long time. For example,
copied 4 meg and it took 5 minutes.

However if I close the folder on the server after
pasting, the copying speeds up dramatically and only
takes 20 seconds.

I am connected with a 100mb hub and are connected to the
Internet via a cable modem. I am not sure if it's
related to a DNS problem or something else.

To really speed things up do it from the command prompt.

Hi Brian,

XP server??
Put those XP-nics on anything but autosense. Have a look at article 810907,
811492, 812937, 296264, 321169 and 296264.
