I am currently running Server 2003 enterprise edition and
would like to also install XP Pro to a different
partition. It is my understanding that XP pro contains an
installation utility that will create a new partition.
However, upon insertion of the XP installation disk, the
installation option in unavailable.

Do I have to uninstall Server 2003 first?

Greetings

Windows XP's setup included "destructive" partitioning. Unless you want to
wipe out your Win2K3 install, you will need to purchase a program like
Partition Magic to resize your partition.

What about FDisk. Will that work as well?

Charlie:

I multi-boot Win XP Pro, Win2k3 server, and SBS2k3.

You might try a program like Partition Magic, but verify that the version
you buy will work with a MS server op system.

My PMagic v7.01 will not work if Win2k3 server is the only op system on the
hard disk, but will work if Win XP Pro is also on the hard disk. I always
use PMagic via floppy boot.
