RPC Server unavailable

HI,
I'm having real problems trying to install Wix XP Media Centre.
XP installs OK, but I can't install drivers because of error message 'RPC
server is unavailable'.

Also, can't access event viewer as 'Interface unknown' error shows.

I've done this as a clean installation, formatting & even deleting then
recreating the installation partition.

PC also has Win XP pro running on a different partition with no problems.

Any suggestions?
