I have installed sp2 on my xp pro. Since then, the Microsoft Windows XP
Professional logo does not come up when I reboot the computer, it only says
Microsoft Windows XP. Is this normal?

Hi

Yes, that is normal now. That's because there are numerous versions of XP -
Home, Pro, Tablet etc. Nothing to worry about.

Yes. "The change reduces the test matrix and uses more
common code across all Windows XP derivatives."

[per Mike Brannigan w/Microsoft]

Yes, it's normal. Microsoft switched from separate splash screens
for each version to a single one for all.

Yes!

Never thought about it till I saw your post. I have Pro and did SP2 maybe a

Not sure that will make you feel better or not.

Yes. They decided that keeping multiple versions of the code concerned
just to include the variant (now four variants)was a waste of time.
