XP pro acting strange

help . I installed xp pro and now my pc is acting very weird .. it just started lagging really bad and on top of that . and the most annoying is that I now have to do mulitple clicks of my mouse to open anything . a browser ..to click on something in a game . its not just two clicks . sometimes its 3- 4 or more !! please help!!!

Can you post the specs of your PC - CPU speed, RAM and free hard disk
space

Regarding the multiple mouse clicks - maybe your computer is just slow
- if you wait for a while after clicking does it eventually respond?
