XP Photo Viewer

When I first installed XP, there was a nifty little native program that was
the default for viewing JPEG images and easy, simple navigation through a
folder. When I installed MS PhotoEditor, it took over the default and I'd
rather have the old one back. Unfortunately, I don't remember it's name or
location. I'm sure it's still here - just lost. Any help would be
appreciated.

Right click on a photo file.
Click on Open with on the opening menu.
Click on Choose program at the bottom of the opening list.
A new list will open. Click on Windows Pictures and Fax Viewer and check the
box "Always ....."

Thanks, Yves. Only correction to your advice was that Open opened MS
PhotoEditor. I tried Open With and selected Windows Pictures and Fax Viewer
from that list. That was it.

Thanks again.

Oops - slight correction to my response. After selecting Open With, you
must then select Choose Program... and then select the program from that
resulting list with Always... checked. :)

No problem.
Glad the problem is solved.

All good, but what if you have tons of photos? You have to do that with each
one? Is there not somewhere we can choose to "always" open .jpg files with a
specific program?

When you do not quote the previous message
it is hard for us to know exactly what you are
replying to. I'm guessing you are asking how to
adjust your image associations.

Right click an image file and from the menu...
choose...Properties / General tab / Change button...
Select the program you wish to open the
image with and click...OK / Apply / OK.
