xp patch install

error says after i download the xp patches is that
...this is not a valid win32 application.

Have no idea what to do to get these patches
installed and operating>

Use Windows Update....not sure where you're getting the patches you're
installing.

Jeff;
There are 2 common causes of that error:
1. You downloaded the 64 bit version, you need the 32 bit for your 32
bit computer.
2. Bad download, download again.
