XP Password settings are never saved

Password settings are never saved eventhough the box is
checked to save them, including outlook 2002. I have 4
emails and it will not save any of them.

The Save Password Setting Is Not Saved When You Connect
to a POP3 Server. This does not seem to work with XP or
XP professional. (e-mail address removed)

The passwords are not saved with XP Home version, only Pro.
RAS, Passport and VPN are saved with Home:

"Note: Windows XP Home Edition stores only Remote Access
Services/Virtual Private Networking and Passport credentials."
