"XP panel" no longer appears in my computer

You know the panel on the left, that has tasks and links to other folders,
that appears in my computer and other folders you open with explorer? Well,
that no longer appears for me. Any ideas how to get it back?

That's the common tasks pane. You can get that back by launching My
Computer or Windows Explorer and hitting the Tools menu item and then Folder
Options. On the first screen that pops up, at the top will be two choices
for the Common Tasks pane, simply select the top option "Show common tasks
in folders" and hit OK. That should fix you up!
