xp on slave drive

Is it possible to access files on a hard drive that has
xp pro on it, when slaved onto another xp system without
actually entering a username and password for the second
drive(getting 'access is denied' error)?
This problem is due to difficulties with my boot drive,
that is now slaved on another.
