XP on 2 Machines?

Can I install XP on both my home and work machines if both
are used for business purposes?

If you buy two copies (or two license), sure.

Otherwise, of course not. The rule is quite clear. It's one copy
(or one license) for each computer. And it has nothing to do with
purposes you use them for.

There's nothing new here. This is exactly the same rule that's
been in effect on every version of Windows starting with Windows
3.1. The only thing new with XP is that there's now an
enforcement mechanism.
